Jul is an AI-powered book generation platform operated by Jul's Publishing House ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our platform. It also outlines your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing without your consent.

We encourage you to review the data handling policies of these providers. We are not responsible for how they process data sent through their APIs. Do not include sensitive personal information in your book generation prompts or source materials.
Your data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database. API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. Generated books, cover images, and uploaded avatars are stored on our servers. Payment card details are handled entirely by LemonSqueezy and are never stored on our systems. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generated books and associated files are retained indefinitely until you manually delete them from your dashboard. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained but your account is downgraded to the Free tier at the end of the billing period. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Generated books and job records may be retained for a limited period after account deletion for audit and abuse-prevention purposes.

Free and Basic tier users may also receive advertising cookies set by Google AdSense when advertisements are displayed. See Google's advertising privacy policy for details. Pro and Premium tier users are not shown advertisements and do not receive advertising cookies.
Free and Basic tier users may see third-party display advertisements served by Google AdSense within the Platform. Pro and Premium tier users do not see advertisements. Google AdSense may collect browsing data and set cookies for the purpose of serving personalised advertisements. Jul is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Jul is available in multiple languages for your convenience. Your data may be processed by third-party providers located in various jurisdictions. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your data to these providers as described in Section 4. This Privacy Policy is published in English. If we provide translations, the English version governs in the event of any conflict.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
